He began his career in the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) in 1979, serving as a fighter pilot, instructor pilot, and flight examiner, flying aircraft such as the A4 Skyhawk, MB-339A, Tebuan CL41G, and Pilatus PC-7. He retired with the rank of Major after 14 years of distinguished military service.
